【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofbasicconstituentsinpetroleumproductsbytitrationwithperchloricacidinglacialaceticacid.ProceduresAandBusedifferenttitrationsolventvolumesandsampleweights.Note1-Aroundrobinonaseriesofnewandusedoilsandadditiveconcentrateshasshownthatthetwoproceduresgivestatisticallyequivalentresults.AppendixX2providestheuseofanalternativesolventsystemwhicheliminatestheuseofchlorobenzeneinthistestmethod.Theuseofthealternativesolventgivesstatisticallyequivalentresults;however,theprecisionisworse.Paragraphprovidesguidancewhencomparingresultsusingthetwodifferentsolvents.Theconstituentsthatmaybeconsideredtohavebasiccharacteristicsincludeorganicandinorganicbases,aminocompounds,saltsofweakacids(soaps),basicsaltsofpolyacidicbases,andsaltsofheavymetals.Note2-ThistestmethodisapplicabletobothfreshoilsandusedoilsasdescribedinSections16,17,and19andAppendixX1.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtodeterminebasenumber300mgKOH/g.However,theprecisionstatementinSectionhasbeenobtainedonlyonbasenumber300mgKOH/g.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificwarningstatements,seeSection7,Section10,andX2.2.
